LE SCRAWL – Whisky A Go Go!

Schon seit 1989 (!) geistern Le Scrawl durch den Grind-Underground und seither sind dem Quartett weder die Motivation noch seine Kreativität abhanden gekommen. Die in einer Blechdose mit Patch schick aufgemachte MCD “Whisky A Go Go!” ist das x-te Release der Kombo, ohne dass Verschleißerscheinungen bemerkbar wären. Stilistisch präsentiert man sich nach wie vor eigen und selbst für den experimentellen Grind-Sektor ungewöhnlich. Prägende Elemente der leider nicht einmal zehn Minuten laufenden MCD sind Klavier bzw. Keyboard und der füllende Einsatz diverser Blasinstrumente. Mit den Jahren haben es Le Scrawl immer weiter perfektioniert, die direkten Grind-Attacken immer genau dann zu setzen, wenn man als Hörer nicht damit rechnet. Grooviger Swing-Rock sorgt für “Schaukel-Feeling”, das vom nächsten Extrem-Part in das genaue Gegenteil verkehrt wird. Der Wechsel von blanker Aggression zu verträglicher Progressivität bewirkt ein Wechselbad der Gefühle, so dass die Stücke von Le Scrawl große Wirkung erzielen. Ein wenig schizophren mutet “Whisky A Go Go!” aber schon an. Für die optimale Produktion zeichnet wiederum Harris Johns (u. a. Sodom, Voivod, Saint Vitus) verantwortlich.
